(Experiment 92) Ginger garlic scallops

Ginger garlic scallops

This looks very fancy, it’s super tasty, and it cooks in a flash. I came up with this recipe after having a couple of beers and deciding to combine all the possible flavors — sweet, spicy, acidic, salty — into one meal.

I used Thai peppers here, and while they were darn hot, they blended really well with the other ingredients.

(Experiment 92) Ginger garlic scallops

Ingredients

  • oil
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tbp ginger minced
  • 1 green onion minced
  • 250 g scallops
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 hot pepper minced
  • 1/2 tbp sugar
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • In a small container, stir the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and pepper. Reserve
  • Heat a pan over medium-high. Put some oil and add the garlic and ginger. Stir and let cook for 30 seconds and add the scallops. Cook for a minute then add the sauce
  • Reduce heat to low, flip the scallops, and let cook for another 90 seconds or so. If it looks dry add the water. Add the green onion. Turn heat off and serve.
