Eat better

(Experiment 78) Iceberg salad

If you have been browsing any social media talking about food , you likely have seen this new Iceberg salad trend. Perfect salad for a hot summer day. Its refreshing and crunchy at the same time. This is not my recipe but was done by Melissa but I adjusted to my own taste.

I usually like to add dice radishes and cucumber on top. They were ready for the shot but kids ate them all before I was done prepping for it , oh well

Try it out and let me know

You need

  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 1/2 lemon juiced ( keep the remaining half to sprinkle on top )
  • 2 good pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Remove any bad leaves on the lettuce and wash it. Wrap it in a clean towel cloth so it dries .
  2. In a mixing bowl , combine the garlic, salt, oil, vinegar and lemon juice. Stir it
  3. Take the lettuce and chop it coarsely . I prefer not to use the middle core as its bitter
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and serve
  5. I like to squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice on top
