Eat better

(Experiment 199) Chilli chocolate

Until recently, I never thought that hot pepper and chocolate were a good match. Never even imagined buying a bar and try it, didn’t sound appealing at all.

Until a friend shared it was her favorite chocolate and gave me a piece. It was love at first sight, with the chocolate that is! Jeez don’t start spreading rumors here

This recipe is mild, if you like hot stuff, highly recommend you use spicier pepper.
You need

  • 240g chocolate
  • 1tbsp cinnamon
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tsp chili pepper
  • 1tbsp ancho or Aleppo pepper

Instructions

  1. First, you will need to temper your chocolate ( see recipe here). Add all the remaining ingredients and pour onto parchment paper or Silpat. I used a dough cutter to spread it “evenly”. When set, just break into pieces
