Until recently, I never thought hot pepper and chocolate were a good match. I never even imagined buying a bar and trying it — it didn’t sound appealing at all.
That changed when a friend shared that it was her favorite chocolate and gave me a piece. It was love at first bite, with the chocolate, that is! Jeez, don’t start spreading rumors here.
This recipe is mild — if you like hot stuff, I highly recommend using a spicier pepper.
(Experiment 199) Chilli chocolate
Ingredients
- 240 g chocolate
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp chili pepper
- 1 tbsp ancho or Aleppo pepper
Instructions
- First, you will need to temper your chocolate
- Add all the remaining ingredients and pour onto parchment paper or Silpat. I used a dough cutter to spread it “evenly”. When set, just break into pieces
