(Experiment 176) Pan seared cauliflower steak

Cauliflower is on sale? Boring? Pfff I bet you are a carnivore! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I am a fan of those steaks, cauliflower doesn’t taste much so they absorb all the flavor from the spices you give it.

Give it a try you will be surprised how easy and tasty it is ๐Ÿ™‚
You needย

  • Cauliflower
  • oil
  • Seasoning of your choice (salt, pepper, minced garlic & a hint of paprika is pictured above), your favorite steak spices, or even rubs would work

Instructions

  1. The hardest part of this recipe is to carve slices in the cauliflower without them breaking. Remove the steams ( if any) and cut the cauliflower in half. From there, cut slice about 1″ thick . Season your “steak slices”.
  2. Over medium-low heat, heat up a skillet (cast iron works really well here). Once hot, add the oil and place your slice in the pan. Cook 3-4 minutes on each side. Be careful not to have your pan TOO hot else you will burn it and it will be raw inside and burned outside.
