White hot chocolate, really? My oldest is a die-hard white chocolate fan and challenged me to take a classic drink and give it the white chocolate treatment. I’ll admit upfront that I’m personally not a white chocolate person and probably never will be, but if you love it, this is a genuinely great recipe, and it’s ultra-easy to pull together.
Funny enough, white chocolate wasn’t even legally allowed to be called “chocolate” in the US until 2004, since it skips the cocoa solids entirely and relies on cocoa butter, sugar, and milk instead. Now that I’ve admitted how much I don’t care for white chocolate on its own, I have to admit this drink is actually really good. WHAT! Yeah, surprisingly it doesn’t taste overwhelmingly like white chocolate and ends up being smooth and totally drinkable. Try it and let me know what you think.
