Throwing out another classic here. Preparation on this can be done by a kid and with a cooking time under 3 minutes, it’s hard to beat.
Serve this with a side of rice and mixed veggies.
You need ( about 4 portions)
- 1/2cup honey
- 20 large shrimp
- 2-3 minced garlic cloves
- 1/4cup soy sauce
- (optional) green onions/parsley/coriander
- 1/4 lemon
Instructions
- First, we need to marinate the shrimps. In a container or mixing bowl, whisk the honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Reserve about 3 tbsp of the sauce in another bowl. Dump the shrimp in the main bowl, cover, and let it take a ~1-hour nap in the fridge.
- Heat up a pan over medium heat, put oil or butter. Take the shrimps out of the fridge and put them in the hot pan, do not pour the marinade, just the shrimp. Just a heads up, as the marinade contains honey(sugar) this will start to caramelize which is a good thing as it gives flavor. If your pan was TOO hot, adjust cooking time and perhaps flip them over after only 60 seconds or you will end up will burned crap on those prawns.
- Cook them about 90 seconds, flip them, squeeze the lemon over them, cook for another minute then pour the reserved marinade over the shrimps. Let cook for a couple of seconds and serve.
